Souka Bakeshop For That Special Celebration

I usually look after the needs of our family’s birthday cake arrangement, when I am in town.

Super picky with cake selection, just like picking present or gift for others. Nothing but the best for my loved ones.

February is the birthday month of my 2nd sis and elder nephew. And we took the opportunity to celebrate it last weekend, during reunion dinner.

Hello Souka

My choice this time? Souka Bakeshop, a bake shop at TTDI, beside and connected with Mukha café.

I am not new to Souka Bakeshop, been there for cakes before. But first time getting a whole cake. Something different for my family members.

I was lucky enough that there were 2 choices for me to choose, without pre-ordering. It was either a red velvet, or something chocolate. I remember that my elder nephew doesn’t like chocolate. Red velvet then. RM 100, only cash.

Red velvet is Souka’s signature cake, and people were raving about it. It didn’t disappoint.

Family heart the cake. Mission accomplished.

Family sang praises. Moist, not too dense and most inportantly, fresh. Bf actually like the cream cheese frosting. I find that it is a tad too sweet. Mom didn’t like the cake though, she didn’t enjoy it. It’s a hit-and-miss introducing new food stuffs to her.

But when other sang praises, mom said “Of course it’s good, as I was the one who bought it.” The perks of being the youngest daughter in the family 🙂

Not Your Typical Tourist

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
