A Must-Watch Movie: The Kid From The Big Apple (我来自纽约)

I have zero tolerance for most Chinese movies, especially those mou lei tou (nonsense) plot.

You are like Stars, not always seen, but always there
You are like Stars, not always seen but Forever there
This one? I love it, love it, love it. Not only me, but the ‘big and small’ people in my life, aka my mom and my 2 nieces, also enjoyed the tearjerker movie.

And for it to be directed by a Malaysian director, and 100% shot in Malaysia .. Hooray.

It has been showing since 10 March, so catch it fast before it makes way to new releases.

Not Your Typical Tourist

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
