Cheap-cheap Sporting Goods At Decathlon
Decathlon is god send angel to us sport freaks. What an amazing happy place for sporting goods-shopping: good quality products that won’t put too big dent in your wallet. Hooray to that.
Decathlon, originated from France, is one of the world’s largest sporting goods retailers. My cousin told me that their stores are super huge in China, and they carry extensive product range. At Decathlon’s first store at Courts Megastore in Bandar Sri Damansara, while they cover many types of sports, they do not carry (that) many products. Ice skating, for example, they mainly sell skates, pads and helmets. But if you are into mainstream sports, you are probably in good hands.
The types of sports include hiking, running, sport walking, scootering, cycling, badminton, horse riding, ice skating, fishing, watersports, etc.

Sis commented that the price is so much cheaper here for horse riding sports gears.

Hiking shoes are sold at RM 189-379 price range. Bf said well-priced at 2/3 cheaper than hiking shoe brands.

Backpack, oh backpack …. should I? Hehe.
So far, I have been there on a weekday afternoon, and also weekend. Weekend was packed with shoppers!

The shop is spacious, and shopping carts are available everywhere … so, no need to be kiasu. I like it their staff are not intrusive; they let you shop in peace … yet, available when you approach them with questions.

My least favorite of all gotta be their fitting rooms .. not sure about you girls, but I need more privacy.

Parking rate:
- 1st hour RM 2.00, and every subsequent hour RM 1.00
- Flat rate 5pm-12mn RM 3.00
- Public holiday 7am-12mn RM 3.00
For shoppers, please approach Decathlon’s security guard with your receipt for 3 hours free parking. You need to validate your parking ticket at autopay machine before exit.
A gigantic Decathlon shopping bag is given when purchasing over 5 items. If less than 5 items, come prepare with your own shopping bag.
Update Sept 2017:

Decathlon has expanded to where Courts used to be on the Ground floor – so, bigger space. The left side of the store (aka old-Courts) is for entrance, and right side for exit.

They also carry Ballet clothing now, and it’s really affordable. Ballet wrap-over costs RM 19, tights RM 9-15, leotard RM 25 and demi-pointe ballet shows RM 45.

They also have proper fitting room (left in black) now, in addition to the curtain-fitting (right in blue) room – but there is still gap at the bottom, etc … I tried on clothes with caution, still.
Shopping bag is given when purchasing over 5 items, or above RM 200 – but I am not sure whether it is still the same gigantic size I got in Oct 2016. Parking ticket validation is now done at the E-commerce counter, instead of through security guard.
