Solsot (솔솥): A Deep Dive into Bangkok’s New Korean Pot Rice Craze

Solsot (솔솥): Is This Korean Pot Rice Worth the Hype at CentralWorld?
Solsot (โซลสท), the celebrated Korean pot rice, has finally landed at CentralWorld’s ATRIUM Zone, bringing a new culinary adventure to Bangkok! But with great hype comes great queues. If you’re wondering if it’s worth the wait, and how to potentially beat it, read on!

My first attempt on June 26th was a bust. Arriving at 7:24 PM, I found a staggering 80 groups ahead, facing a 2-3 hour wait – definitely longer than the mall’s closing time!

My Tip for Beating the Wait:
Undeterred, I learned my lesson. On July 7th, I grabbed a queue number early, at 6:15 PM, securing A156 with a much more manageable 36 groups. Their excellent LINE-based queue system is key here! You get real-time updates and notifications when your turn is near, with a 5-minute grace period. This strategy got us seated in about an hour!

Once inside, we dove into ‘must-try’ Beef Steak and Sliced Pork Belly pot rice sets. The eating ritual is interactive: mix your rice, portion it out, then leave some behind to form that coveted crispy ‘nurungji’ crust, which you soak with broth for a comforting finish. While not super crispy, the crust was satisfying, and the generous, refillable kimchi was a highlight!

Overall, the food was enjoyable, portions substantial, and staff service excellent. If you’re curious about this Korean pot rice craze, Solsot is definitely worth checking out – just go prepared for the queue, or better yet, use my tip to beat it!
