Will Liabduan Danneramit Night Market Finally Bring Life to This Storied Spot?

This prime Bangkok spot has a history of ambitious but short-lived ventures. Once home to Dan Neramit (Magic Land), Thailand’s first amusement park, its iconic Sleeping Beauty castle still stands. More recently, it housed the Jodd Fairs DanNeramit market, which, for me, felt too food-focused and lacked lasting appeal.

But now, the torch has passed to Liabduan Danneramit Night Market, opened in late May 2025 and run by the successful Liabduan team. My recent visits suggest a far more promising future! Unlike its predecessor, this market is already bustling and vibrant, offering a great balance of diverse food, engaging shopping, and lively entertainment, including live music.

It seems Liabduan might finally have found the winning formula to make this storied location truly thrive.

Suki Teenoi: Is the Hype Justified? A First-Hand Account

Caught in Bangkok’s sukiyaki price war, Suki Teenoi (สุกี้ตี๋น้อย) is a newcomer making waves. Though we usually prefer Shabu Lab, a Suki Teenoi branch opened near us, directly opposite the new Liabduan Danneramit Night Market.

A Friday evening visit revealed insane popularity – 84 groups ahead! But thanks to some classic Thai kindness, we received a spare queue number and were seated in just 30 minutes.

At 234 baht net per person (with drinks, 276 baht total), it’s a competitive buffet. While the food is decent, MK arguably offers better ingredients. Suki Teenoi’s late hours (until 5 AM) contribute to its buzz. We finished quickly and happily passed our original queue number to another waiting couple.

Suki Teenoi offers an affordable, lively experience, especially if you’re open to a touch of serendipitous Thai generosity!

Squid Game 3 Jumps into Bangkok: A Surprising Adventure

It was a surprise when my husband wanted to check out the Squid Game 3 event near the Giant Swing! The free event, which ran until July 6th, featured the impressive 12-meter-tall Younghee and Cheol-su dolls – iconic characters from Squid Game. It was fascinating to see Netflix’s brilliant, talk-of-the-town marketing in action, experiencing such an on-ground event.

Even my initially reluctant niece found joy in the “Gong-gi” (five stone) game, which she already owns – a surprising hit over the giant jumping rope! The atmosphere was electric, with excited fans and vendors selling Squid Game merchandise. Kudos, Netflix, for another brilliant stunt!

The Vegetarian Society in Bangkok – A Hidden Gem (Still?)

Beyond the Usual: Discovering Bangkok’s Vegetarian Gem in Chatuchak!
When in Bangkok, the food scene is legendary, but sometimes the best finds are those tucked away from the main tourist trail. Today, I’m thrilled to share a spot that has completely captured our hearts (and stomachs!): The Vegetarian Society in Chatuchak (สาขาชมรมมังสวิรัติจตุจักร), widely known as Chamlong’s.

This isn’t just any vegetarian restaurant; it’s a bustling hub of delicious, incredibly affordable Thai food with a unique story rooted in the Santi Asoke Buddhist Organization. Forget everything you thought you knew about vegetarian dining – here, you’ll find everything from rich, comforting Khao Soi to “chicken” rice, “roast pork,” and even satay, all made with clever plant-based magic.

It’s a place where every dish averages a mere 20-35 baht, where coupons are king, and where you might even spot locals and a growing number of savvy travelers enjoying the communal vibe. Come along as I take you through our multiple visits, share what makes Chamlong’s so special, and give you all the practical tips for experiencing this Bangkok gem yourself!
