Fast-Food Yakiniku at Yakiniku Like (Central Ladprao)

Yakiniku Like is a Japan-born, solo-dining yakiniku concept founded in 2018 that delivers individual grills, curated set menus, and a fast-food pace. Operating under the banner of “Delicious, Fast, and Value for Money,” the brand opened its first Bangkok branch in late 2021, promising authentic Japanese yakiniku served within three minutes at highly attractive prices.

Looking for a non-buffet spot for lunch, we finally gave it a try—albeit a few years late!

The Vibe & Solo-Dining Setup

While famous for its solo-dining concept, the Central Ladprao branch features only about eight dedicated individual counter seats. While the layout leans a bit more toward group tables here, solo diners can easily sit anywhere, and we even spotted duos sitting side-by-side at the single counter seats—a smart move during a tight lunch rush.

The highlight of the setup? Individual smokeless roasters. Every seat gets its own grill, allowing you to cook at your own pace without sharing. Plus, the incredibly powerful ventilation system means you won’t walk out smelling like a barbecue pit, all while enjoying a clean, air-conditioned mall environment.

The Menu & Customization

The ordering system perfectly balances convenience with personal choice. The menu primarily follows a set meal format—including rice, soup, and a choice of salad or kimchi (which gets a resounding nod for delivering a proper, authentic kick rather than the usual muted profile)—though à la carte options are readily available. Diners can fully customize their meals by selecting the specific meat cut, portion size (a welcome relief for lighter eaters, with 100g and 150g sets available), and a choice of four signature sauces: Original BBQ, Sea Salt, Garlic Soy, and Spicy Miso. I personally favored the Original BBQ and Sea Salt, while my husband preferred the robust notes of the Garlic Soy.

📌 Clarification for Wagyu Fans: While there was some online buzz about Wagyu at the newly opened Central Northville branch, it wasn’t a permanent menu expansion. It was actually a limited grand opening promotion rewarding the first 100 customers with free Wagyu A4 Suki! For now, standard Wagyu remains off the main menu here, but their regular beef and pork sets still offer incredible value.

What We Ordered

Our total bill came to 744 THB (including a bottle of water), which is incredible value for two people.

  • Pork Karubi (Pork Belly) Set (269 THB | 200g): Beautifully marbled, buttery, and tender. It grilled up perfectly juicy and satisfying.
  • LIKE Set (455 THB | 250g): A robust combo of US Short Plate, Hanging Tender (Harami), and Beef Tongue. We opted for a free promotional beef upgrade on this set, which was well worth it.
  • The Rice & Upgrades: Set meals offer three default rice portions (150g, 200g, or 300g) at no extra charge. Despite trying to cut back on carbs lately, we both recklessly ordered the 300g bowls—and cleared every single grain. The meat was just too good a pairing to resist! We also noticed some customers upgrading their bowls to Seaweed Rice, which you can do for an extra 20 THB.

The Verdict: Will We Be Back?

Definitely, yes. Getting a deeply satisfying, fast-food-style yakiniku lunch in a comfortable, cool environment for under 1,000 THB for two is a massive win.

Our only minor critique is the size of the grill. It only fits about four pieces of meat at a time, making it much better suited for a solo diner’s rhythm than a fast-paced meal for two. But for a quick, delicious, and budget-friendly meat fix? It hits the spot perfectly.
